A brand new Dyson DC27 Total Clean. Should be here in a week or so.

I've been wanting this model since I heard about it. I haven't seen one in person yet so it will be a whole new ball game for me. Anyone else on here have this model? I also noticed that the UK versions use a clutch system as opposed to the secondary motor.

I was able to finally try a DC17 when my friend brought his over a few weeks ago. It was night and day between that and my DC07. That was kind of the iceing on the cake for my purchase decision. Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the DC27 going to be replacing the DC17 models?

I'll post some pics when it gets here.

Hi Matt, congrats on the new purchase - I'm sure you'll be very happy with it! It's an improvement over the DC07 in just abouy every way! The same great constant performance, but packaged in a much more user-friendly shell.

I've scanned the UK sales leaflet for the DC27 for you - as you've already noted, the main difference between the US and UK 27 is that the US has the motor-driven brush, and the UK still has the clutch.

Here's mine - the Dyson Absolute DC27 All Floors. I didn't go for the more expensive Allergy model because I liked the colour of this one better, hehe. Also, I already had the mini turbinehead, and I don't really need the HEPA filter since no one in the family has allergies.

Hey Jack!

Thanks for the info, I'm liking what I see. I also noticed that the UK version has a similar brush roll to the DC07/14.

I just informed my mother that were now a Dyson family (wasn't sure how she would react to my compulsive purchase). With the DC27 on its way, the DC07 will now become one of the daily drivers over at her place. I figure since that one has a harder time with the plush carpeting in her house, I'll do a follow up every so often with the Sanitaire.

A few detail shots...

The 2 removable blockage check valves have been replaced by a single, clear, hinged U-bend.

The automatic change-over valve is much more like the one used on the DC24/25 models.

Click-fit tools - these are great, and you can get a huge range of extra-cost tools to fit.

Filter housing easier to remove - just squeeze the clip and pull up.

Brush-housing redesigned for optimal pick-up. Clear, so you can spot obstructions.

Well, its here! Arrived a few hours ago. What a powerful vacuum! The brush roll pertrudes about a quarter of an inch past the rug plate and reminds me of an elite or windtunnel type roller. Very aggresive like the DC17 but with longer brissles so it wont cause any harm to the carpeting.

I was planning on getting some pictures but the camera is dead. The attachments it also came with are great and the new styled mini turbine head is virtually noiseless.

I'm getting ready to vacuum up some "Zorb" that I'm cleaning the carpet at my moms house with.

Now the DC07 is going to be jealous since the 27 is getting all of the attention :P
