I knew with me using my Hoover Innovation semi-regularly, there would come a day there would be an issue. I was vacuuming and it starting making an awful noise, so shut it down and it went to the vac shop where I have gone since the early 90's, so I thought they could work on it. Sure enough she had it apart in minutes, and discovered a cracked fan. The owner looked over and said, "you know an Elite fan fits that". I was elated, and the new fan style has more blades creating better airflow. Heather said the belt was stretched, and I said, yeah, it'll be a sad day when I need one of those. The owner, Henry, piped up again, and said "I have two packages of belts for that machine." Well, that made my day, a new fan, and some new belts, and I was in heaven. Then he says "go out back and check the pod, those are machines that I'm going to scrap, see if there's anything you want." Well, there was one thing that caught my eye, a Kirby, 560 I think, with the silver flecked bag, in very decent shape. We took it off, vacuumed it off, then blew it out with his air hose. I don't have the correct machine for it, but maybe down the road I will. The machine itself had a frozen motor, and no head or cord, so I didn't take the whole thing, just wanted the bag. One more thing, as I was walking back in from the storage pod, I glanced over and saw a new old stock Hoover convertible hood with the cutout for the light. I don't think you can get those anymore, so I walked up front and asked if I could buy it, and he said to take it, he didn't think he'd use it. Henry is a great guy, and also is the one who buffs my Kirbys when I need one done. He's probably the only guy in the midwest who buffs and does a wonderful job. Between him, the Kirby dealers, and Marty Kaplan's Spa, they keep my machines in great order, and I'm blessed to know them all!
