Hey folks! Been checking the Kirby 'Dirt Meters' out on ebay - and I can pick one up fairly cheaply - or so it seems... I'm looking for one purely just to have a 'play' with one and see exactly what I can get out of my caprets and mattresses... I know that some of you have used these in the past - but could you tell me - do you think it is worth the cost + shipping to Australia for one?? Cheers Ste |

I have a Demonstration Kit and it came with the Dirt Meter with like 2,000 Black and White pads and the Suction Meter. |

That's the part that scares me!!! LOL We just purchased a new mattress for the guest bedroom and I really want to see what the Kirby could pull out of it... I do our own mattress regularly (it has a double-pillow top) so I'm really quite particular about how clean it is (Hubby is uber bad asthmatic too) but am intrigued to see just how much small stuff there really is lurking in the lounge suite and mattresses... Bill - I've just sent you an email - with a billion and one questions of course! If anyone has any pics of the dirt meter in use - or the scary stuff you've discovered - I'd love to see them! Cheers Ste |

Are there any Demonstration Kits for the Kirby Heritage II/Legend/Legend II? I have a Kirby Legend II which I absolutely love. Thanks. Rob Gwisdala |

I remember one time when I worked for Areus Electrolux. I was demoing a Guardian and the lady told me that she had bought a new mattress just about two months before and would love to see what it pulled. What we did was take a cloth and tuck it down into the hose (wand end) and that made a small bag. I used the power nozzle and within about 30 seconds the vacuum shut off. The lady freaked out and said why did the vacuum shut off like that. I told her that the little makeshift bag was full. She couldn't believe that so I took it out and it was FULL. There must have been a cup of white dust in it. I made that lady cry that day. I felt so bad, I never said anything it was just all the dust out of her new mattress. She was going to buy it right then and there but her hubby wasn't sold on the fact that a better class of vacuum was any better that Walmart. Needless to say I ran into them at Walmart getting a new $49.00 Bissell bagged powerforce and she kind of lowred her head in shame. lol The reason they went with the bag is because in my sales pitch I told them why bags are better. So at least they learned one thing from me. |
