James

What is the serial number for your machine? It looks like it's a Kirby made before the BPI came out.

Yes, it looks like a late '84 or early '85 model, as it has the metal zipper on the bag and anti-injury holes in the hose.

Heritage II video

While it would be cool to have the Video on VHS tape, it would be even cooler to have it on Beta tape!

Noah,

More like after July 1985 because of the "Kirby Kaddy."

Ben, that is possible. Kirby removed the annoying anti-injury holes from the hose end in March of '85, but they still remained on the wands and swivel elbow for a while longer. They were originally introduced on the Classic Omega model because previously, from what I heard, a girl injured her eye from the suction, so her parents sued and Kirby agreed to add the holes onto the ends of the wands and hoses to prevent this (unless you hold the hose in such a manner that covers them).

Hi,

kirbymodel2c's profile picture

Hi Adam, Sorry for not replying. I've only just re-read through the thread and spotted I never replied to you.

I can't confirm yet what year it was made as it's not stored at my home but at my dads house where all my Kirby boxes are stored. But next time I go over and have a sort out I'll check what year this Kirby was made.

Thanks Ben. I saw the video when Kirby first put it up on You tube. I like the video. It's a shame it's quite short.
