To settle the discussion about runtime on a full charge, the manual states:

- 13 mins (brushbar on)
- 12 mins (brushbar off)

First impressions:

Hi, Joe - I haven't had a chance to use it with the battery fully-charged yet. However, the battery arrived with a limited amount of charge on it (the indicator suggested about 25%), and having taken a LOT of pics of the cleaner looking shiny and new, I gave it a quick run round the house. That 25% charge lasted long enough for me to cover my living room, hall, first landing, dining room, middle landing, bathroom and one bedroom!

The brushbar bristles are soft, and strands of thread on the carpet sometimes takes a couple of passes to dislodge. It's not supposed to be a deep cleaner, obviously, but it devours surface litter with ease, and you can actually hear the buzz of the brush sweeping at the carpet.

After having run over the rooms I mentioned above, the dustcup was full. The bulk of the dirt was largely pet hair and surface debris, but finer dust and grit were hidden underneath:

A small birds-nest of pet hair and fluff!

Impressive

That's an impressive amount of stuff that it got out of your carpets for a non-deep cleaner and considering the number of vacs that I assume you have.

I think I mentioned this to you in your other thread, but I have the U.S. Hoover handvac that uses this battery and it is very convenient to charge and it does not take long at all for full charge to complete. I really do like the hand vac and I might have to consider this one.

Hi Chris - I think the last time I vacuumed was on Thursday morning, and since then, we've had 8 people and two pets in the house, so I wasn't surprised there was a lot of crap on the floor! Ordinarily, that would be the point I'd grab one of my corded cleaners, but I had a go with the LiFE instead.

I was impressed how much it was able to pick up, especially since the battery only had 25% charge (although that doesn't affect the power output!). It did a LOT in a short time!

I've never been keen on battery power in the past, but with the latest generation of cordless machines, such as this Vax/Hoover, and the new Dyson handhelds, for the first time, I can see the appeal in being able to grab something small and light for quick clean-ups!

Hi Mike - yes, I'll make a video of the cleaner as usual, as soon as I can find the time. Things are busy at the minute!

:)
