Anyone have any info on the model or anything like that? This ones an inigma to me! Serial plate says; "General Electric Cleaner, model AVT-810"

Beautiful GE tank...I have not seen one in a long time. I am not sure how old it is. Do you have all of the attachments too? Does anyone out there in vacuumland know the age of this great looking tank?

This is just a guess guys but I would say early 50's. We had nieghbors that had one very much like this only I would guess it was a top of the line model as I remember the front and rear end caps were chrome. Man with that Red GE logo it was a real looker. Never did get to use it thought, you know how some people are>LOL

Lux Competition

I have one of these in beautiful condition, up until now I had never seen another one. Mine still works great also, came with one wand and the original plastic rug tool with the adjustable brush, even still has that special GE smell to the exhaust that I remember from the pink/white canister I grew up with. Mine was a gift from Tom Gasko many years ago. It has better suction than a Electrolux model XXX, it must've given them some competition in the vac market back then. I would guess late 40's on this, but not sure. I especially like the ski-type runners on this, unique!

..just bought one of these AVT-810's but all my wires ar

..disconnected from the on/off switch; 2 from the plug and 2 from the motor (a blue and an orange one). Any chance you could peak into yours to see where they go?

Many thanks,
