I would definitely bite on it if it were in better shape. It looks as if the powerhead assembly is missing a decal. Wonder if this model offered a tool kit just like its Regina counterpart? |

Yes, a tool kit was available, according to the schematics. |

Hey Guys: That machine was from the Early 1990's when Electrolux bought out Regina in the US (shortly before nearly bankrupting themselves). I remember seeing one in the Electrolux shop in Minot ND on a trip. Unfortunately they never reached the Canadian market, however we did do the Regina warranty work for a short time. |

Two things happened to Regina during the 80's.
Customers were finding more and more favor with uprights with onboard attachments so they could do everything with one cleaner. The second issue was how much Regina cheapened there products during the early 80's and the 1984 House Keeper in all it's pink glory was made of the most abysmal plastic ever created. This same garbage plastic made it's way into the once famous Electrik brooms mainly in the motor housing and then the upper handle grip. The floor nozzles were also cheapened badly after 1982 with the new "automatically" label signifying that it did all surfaces. What they did in essence was remove the two brush strips that once could be adjusted for various rug and bare floor types and replaced that with one cheap plastic brush strip suspended by springs like Hoover and Eureka did on there brooms. The difference was that there was no adjustment and when the plastic brush quickly wore out you were left with only the suction to clean carpets and such. Worse these style nozzles had but one cheap plastic tab that held the elbow which fit into the fan housing. When that little tab broke or wore the nozzle would simply fall off! Starting in 1985 Regina went full blown automatic with these nozzles eliminating the edge cleaner and air pulse adjustment. The plastic suspended brush strip remained but thankfully the nozzle was re-enforced with both an upper and lower retaining tab for the elbow which did help some. This Lux Lite in the thread discussion sadly used the same garbage plastic that Regina had in both the motor housing and the powerhead. Pull just about any used example apart and you will find the air passage way plastic split in two with dirt going everywhere except the dirt cup. This is where the white portion screws into the motor housing. The powerhead wasn't as bad but I have seen many broken mounts for motor screws and loose end cap retainers. I have a nice clean low mileage example that thankfully is fully intact and runs really well but it is rarely used! Note this Lux Lite was totally a rebadged and colored Regina Power team. Not one component was of an Electrolux design. What is interesting to note is that when these came out from Electrolux the Regina's were being made with the Cosmo style upper handle and plain dark colored bags. Electrolux just used old stock Regina switches and handles from the 1987-88 time era for these where the cord comes out of the metal switch plate. The Cosmo Regina's in comparison saw the cord come out of the top most portion of the plastic handle with no strain relief and many examples see the outer layer split in two as a result. A few pics to follow later tonight. |

Some pics of where the Lux Lite/Regina broom crack in the dirt airway passage next to the screw and a few pics of the Cosmo style with revised handle and cord coming out of the top.
