Its my nans, she is moving into care, I saved it as my uncle was going to throw it in the skip. Its got its tools, user manual all complete. A bit noisy, whether thats the motor bearings or brushroll im not sure but still picks up. Usual marks from use but otherwise in great condition. How much would you expect to get for it? WIll up load a pic when I get one. |

Richard If it is a 1036 it is not particularly rare so its hard to put a value on it, it could get virtually nothing or if someone REALLY wants it, it could go for a lot. To confirm if its a 1036 the tools should have the pan connector which connects under the brushroll - it also has teh flat belt, squared off handle and combined on-off/handle release. If it is like the earlier Juniors then again its not particularly rare - it would be a U1012. Why not keep it? If you take the handle apart it will pack up quite small, and you have the benefit of retaining something that was your grandmother's. It could be the start of a whole new Hoover collection, especially as you seem to have started on washing machines ..... Al |

Richard, If it is in fact a U1036 Junior, yours would have had to have been made from 1978 until some point during 1981 if it were Mustard Yellow in color. The bag and the body were Mustard Yellow throughout. In late 1981 the color scheme was changed to a two-tone brown scheme that continued until its replacement, the U1104, was dropped in 1987-88. ~Ben |

Got my nans at mine now, im giving it a clean up, the bag was filthy inside dont think she had it on properly and so the cloth bag was full of dust, i just banged it straight in the washer and its come out looking like new, gonna stick a new bag on it see how we get on. Something is running very noisy on it, not sure if its the motor bearings or brushroll but its a rattly sound. Will take brush roll off tmrw to see. |
