Well, ladies and gentlemen, here's a recent score from eBay. A "previous generation" Miele S5! And it cost me a whole $45. I found it on eBay a couple days ago right after it was listed and snapped it up, as it was $45 buy it now and free shipping. The seller said "it turns on but only when the cord is wiggled", typical two tabs that have broken off the center post on the cord winder, which would cause the reel to come away from the electrical contacts causing the machine to shut off. Nothing a $0.50 fiber washer or two can't fix.

Besides the cord winder issue it looks to be in fantastic shape, it's not missing any of the tools under the hood. Only thing is that it's missing the hose, wand, PN, and bare floor tool. If anybody has these parts that they're willing to sell please let me know! I'll be calling my friends vac shop tomorrow and see if he has anything that he can sell me off of a trade in machine or something.

These pics are from the listing, hoping that it'll arrive sometime next week. Will post before and after pics, and for those of you who have never seen the insides of a Miele, will see some pics of that during the Miele surgery. ;-)

Ahhh, eBay, the world of bargains!

And here are the tools.

Hehe, black and orange, I guess it'll be known as the 'Halloween vac'. ;)
