Could somebody explain how you get the strips out of the roll? I can remove the end cap and central spindle, exposing the ends of the roll. I thought the old strip would just slide out, but it seems tightly stuck in place. I don't want to damage the strip as it a "donor" to be placed in a better condition roll for a machine I'm restoring.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

You have to remove the inner end-piece, the piece that the bearings sit inside. You can gently and slowly pry those out with a flathead screwdriver. Once those are out, use a screwdriver again to push the brush strips out.
