Ok so here is the deal..I browse Craigslist daily to see if any vacs are on the free page or in the price range that I can currently afford. I cam across a Kirby G5 up the street from me for 50$ includes tools and shampoo system. I decided why not, mom has an Ultimate G and I wanted a Kirby for years, so I email and await the call. Nice lady drops it off at my house (she has just moced back from Florida and didnt need it anymore) I was thrilled. I bring it in and start checking it out looks good, has a service sticker on it from McElaneys in Lake City Fl, so im assuming she had some work done on it. After playing around ith it for a few moments I discover that the bag does not stay latched on the exhaust port very well, fill tube is cracked at the bottom, headlight does not work, seems to be missing a few tools and although the tech drive works it has a horrible squeeling noise to it. So I ask all of you out there is you know any good sites where I can get the complete bag assembly, missing tools (I think its just 1 wand, crevice tool, and small thing that fits on the end of the hand sprayer to make the suds) and how to polise it back to the shiny new Kirby state?? I would like to have this as my daily vac so I really want to get it up and running but I have no job and money is tight..So any information would be greatly appreciated..Sorry I wrote a book but those are the issues..Oh will a bulb from a Hoover Elite fit and work in this or do I have to get a special bulb?? Thanks to anyone who can provide and help..

Look at your kirby dealer or a vac shop. They might turn up acessories and the bag. The tech drive may need to be fixed because my g6 which i got for 25 dollars has a horible transmission system. You got Great Find though!

Mothers Aluminum Polish works wonders. I was told, and it works. Let the polish dry for a day, then use a steamer and spray and wipe it off, and it makes it nice and shiny, you may need to do this a few times though.
