Joe...

I saw those when they first came out and I'm very sceptical. I had a cloth bag in a canister vac and it leaked dust HORRIBLEY. But, supposedly, the Forever Bag has an industrial seal.

I would like to try one of those in my Hoover Tempo. It uses bags too qucikly and those seems good.

Forever vacuum bags

I too am curious as to the filtration ability. I doubt it could be any worse than some of the bagless models on the market today. I would probably try it first in a "dirty-air" upright (maybe an Oreck), that way if it does leak somewhat, fine dust won't get sucked into the motor.

Performance will vary from machine to machine, I think, since the mounting on every machine is different. His Panasonic bag looks like a DVC cloth bag. DVC makes an excellent cloth bag for Panasonic/Riccar/Kenmore uprights. I used one once during my famous hotel test and the filtration was excellent.

Hoover has always offered a cloth type Y bag, but not very good quality. DVC should offer their version of Hoover A and Y bags. These modern cloth bags cannot be compared to traditional woven cloth bags, since its a multi-layer fused material, like a Kirby outer bag.

Some of those "Forever bags" are horribly undersized, like the Lux Discovery bag.

I wonder if he would produce a limited quantity of forever bags for vacuums where paper bags are NLA, like say the Air-Way Sanitary System, Hoover Type W (HandiSac), or even the Oreck XL-4000 series?

I would guess he would, judging by some of the strangeness of the selection. The currently offer two different Lux type C bags, and they also offer bags for the Dirt Devil Broom Vac, which is quite rare these days. The bags for the Sanyo Transformax must be a hard sell too. I think that model has been gone for some time.

Forever cloth bags

I have a forever cloth bag in my Kirby Diamond Edition and it works great. And a lot cheaper in the long run if you have to keep buying those 3m filtrete bags that came with the Diamond Edition. I was lucky though, when I left my wonderful job as service manager in California, I was able to purchase a case of the 3m bags at cost. so I use them in most all of my other kirbys... Dan

I think the "Forever" reusable cloth dump bag inserts for Kirbys would be better than that "Bagless" thing we had on here a while ago.Wonder if it would be interesting to try both of them-they are Kirby related items in a way-Aftermarket items.I would think if you do use the Forever Bag you should dump it after each major use-esp if you have pets.
