What makes the installation of a #119056 metal fan on a G5 or later Kirby so difficult as opposed to installing one on a Generation 3 or G4? Is it a gasket-related thing?

I know some people have been successful doing this on the G3 and G4 but not so many on the G5 and up.

I'd like to know about this myself

My Sentria would be AWESOME if I could put a metal fan in it

About the Generation 3 and G4

Everyone should know both the Generation 3 and the G4 had used the same Lexan fan as models Tradition 3-CB to Legend II, part number 119078. For the G5 onwards, they changed to using one made of Kevlar, part number 119096, although even part #119078 was being made from Kevlar by that time as well.

The main difference between part numbers 119078 and 119096 is that the fan blades on part number 119096 were changed slightly to accommodate the redesigned internals of the G5.

If you attempt to install either the 119056 metal fan or the 119078 Lexan/Kevlar fan on a G5 or later Kirby, you'll face the frustration of the front bearing going sour pretty soon than if you installed the former part on a G3 or G4.
