Hi all,

I've just got hold of a TPM total system u5094 but it needs the headlamp bulb replacing. Does anyone know where I could find one or what bulb I would need?

many thanks,
Chris

Your best bet...

...would be to contact Hoover directly, or seek out a local Hoover repair shop. The bulb used is a capless style.

You're welcome.

If I remember correctly, Hoover made the bulbs available in two voltages: 16 and 12. They found through the course of general use (according to a data book), that one was more reliable than the other, so that particular size was eventually the only one made available. Hoover made them available 'one bulb per card'.

The capless style is similar to that used in cars's dashboards instrument lighting, a glass envelope with copper wires protruding. Obviously car bulbs are NOT compatible, but you get the general idea of the style.

I had a quick look online, and I don't see any available from online suppliers. As I said, best bet is 'Ye Olde Hoover Dealer' (Hoover itself has probably made the blessed part obsolete!)

BULBS.

Calum,

I have used the 5w dashboard/sidelight bulbs on previous occasions, as they do work but are not as bright as the original hoover bulbs.

I think the originals are 10w 12v units. Hope this helps.

Clark.

:D

I managed to track one down from the Hoover centre in Leeds. It was the last one he had. Got it for £3. Many thanks for your help Rolls - you're a star!
