I dont know if anyone has used one but info on it would be great. I would like to get a central vac but they are a little too pricey so I was thinking about this or the Hoover GUV. however I know that I would have to install a wall switch and power head hook up

Real central power units generate more CFM than the wall mounted garage vacuums-these were designed for vacuuming cars, power tools and the garage floor.Would probably not be good as a "central" home unit. These garage vacuums weren't designed for that use.
