What is it that makes many of us keep buying vacuum cleaners?

I have tried to curb myself, but that just results in a big binge. It's like giving up chocolate. You manage to stay off the stuff all week and have a big blow out at the weekend.

Today I have just ordered two more cleaners. A Dyson DC15 Ball and A Dyson DC03i!!!!!

I have wanted the original Ball cleaner for a while, even though the new version, the DC25 is supposed to be much better. As a collector though, I wanted the older version, especially since it's getting harder to find in the UK. In the past I have regretted not buying cleaners when they were available in stores. I'd rather get a brand new machine now, rather than have to settle for a second hand model a few years down the line.

The DC03i has been discontinued a while and I have not been able to find it on the internet for a long time. I had saved a search with Ebay in the hope that someone would list a brand new model and today someone did!

I placed an offer which was accepted. £140 delivered.

The DC03i is a model sold only by independent stores in the UK and comes in the tradional Dyson silver with white as the highlight colour. I do have a second hand DC03 Clear, but I have been wanting to get my hands on a brand new DC03. There's nothing like the rush of opening a brand new cleaner.

I will post pics of my new babies as soon as I get them.

And there isn't anything wrong with that. I temporarily stopped for two reasons though. First, nothing worth having has appeared here for months, and second, I have run out of space.

My brother and sis-in-law bought a Dyson Ball off eBay, they paid $100.00 less than is usual for that one. They love it.

Rick - quite!! If I had the money, there's a whole load of new stuff I'd love to buy and try out, aside from a select few vintage models I'd like to find...

Sometimes when I'm down just running a vac or working on one can lift my spirits!

Me, too!!

Rx for depression: Load all the washing machines; fill dishwasher, choose vacuum of day, listen to all of them hum. Instant mood improvement!

Absolutely, William! Sometimes I'll plug in a whole row of vacuums and run them in place at the same time - it makes music to sooth my soul.

Like I did tonight about an hour ago with all 5 Electrolux 89s...just cause I can.

And you should hear the Roll-Easy triplets' sing the blues...er...the turquoises. :-)

Dave, easily amused.
