I got this on ebay after a dental appointment still messed up on the meds and apparently spent more than I wanted, But to make a long story short I am happy I bought it. I had one years agao and had sell it due to financial problems well now I have another.

And I love it. Love the on board tools the simplicity of it. The retractable cord it just feels like the futures electrolux compare to the tank vac we so well know and love as well. I feel like this has its same longevity. It is still tank like and feels strong built other than a lot of there other plastivac eurekaluxes. Just wanted to share.

Great vacuum! I have the 75th anniversary Ambassador and its a nice machine when you want that Electrolux feeling with real modern power and light weight. I've also experienced the sales demo for the 9000 and it was a very enjoyable machine to use.

Do you mind posting a side view of this cleaner? I've been looking for one that had the Electrolux name on the side that reminds me of the Model LX. Like so many prior models the 9000 / Guardian has gone through many variations, so its harder to find a specific one.

Elux Guardian 75th Anniversary

Is this the one? This is one of my favorite vacuums. Very deluxe and quiet. I like the XXX, it has the rounded front and the RED Electrolux lettering on the side of the machine and power nozzle. Also like the stipes in the side trim and top of cord rewind much like the design of the trim on the sides of the XXX. It also had the flat looking end from a side view like the XXX.

Elux Guardian 75th Anniversary

Does anyone know if they changed the motor during the run of the Guardian? Mine is very very quiet and has that familiar Electrolux sound. I have heard other collectors say their Guardians were noisy.
I bought mine from the "The Electrlux Man" in 1998 and I noted the box and machine both say "made in USA"
I have to say when I used a Miele for the first time I was somewhat disapointed when I compared it to my Lux. What I didn't like on the Miele was that it caught on all the edges when I moved from one surface to the next. Also didn't care for the feel of the hose. The machine tended to pull sideways and not straight ahead. I also preferred the narrow shape of the Electrolux canister when cleaning the carpeted stairs.
It seemed like the new Aerus Lux I saw sveral weks ago was louder than my Epic 8000. The new motor is "brushless" so maybe that is why it is louder.

hello

mine is a 99 and it is silent on all three speeds which I love. I actually let my husband use this one. I tell him to look at the pictures and it will tell him how to use it lol. I enjoy watching people use my vacuums its like sharing something special.

Renaissance

I had a Renaissance and Epic 6500 together for a while, and the Renaissance seemed to be more quiet than the Epic. However the hose suction from the 6500 seemed better, even though I believe they used the same motor. I dont think the Renny was nearly as quiet as my Miele Red Velvet or Blue Moon which replaced both the Epic and Renny. I would love to have an Epic 8000, its so beautiful with its white and gray color scheme and red lettering! It is was before they added that awfully thought out after thought of a HEPA filter. It seemed like Luxe never bothered to take the time to intigrate it better into the machine and keep with its sleek retro-like design. It was like they were just keeping up with the high end vacuum market and shoved a filter on top so they could claim HEPA filtration too.
