...I can't help it, really!

Polisher was $1.50, model 63 was $18.

63 Close Up.

It needs a good cleaning, but it's in pretty good shape overall.

Polisher...

I've been after one of these for a long time... was just one of those things I could never seem to find. Then, there it was! I saw the box with the brushes first, then my eyes wandered until I saw the polisher handle. :-)

That 63 looks better than most of my new vacuums. I do have to kind of laugh at that thick cord and plug.

Fred,
Real nice ... now you're just showing off. jk
Nice finds.
Love the polisher.
I think it has a headlight ... love that.
The 63 looks like it's in great shape.
Very little wear on the handle and the base appears to have few scratches.
Keep posting .... it's an inspiration to the rest of us.
You can't find treasures like that unless you put forth the effort, routinely.
Enjoy!!
Pat

Wow Fred, another great week at the sales!!! Sure nothing like that down here. Both the 63 and the polisher look as if they had a pretty protected life!!! Just think how you can make those floors shine now!!!

The best part...

Is the two estate sales that we found them at were across the street from one another!

That polisher was made from 1950-1955... and they only made about 20,000 of them. I believe it was called the "Minute Man" polisher. I have an ad for it somewhere around here.

Was this a particular era in Hoover history? Did the "Block Letter Hoovers" precede the famous circular red logo? When was the famous Hoover-in-a-Circle introduced?

So while Fred was at work this afternoon I tippy-toed back to that sale in Golden Valley and bought for $5 a beautful Lux automatic E and this Eureka Roto-matic just to try for $2.50. Plus check out this one bag that I also found at the sale (bag was free :-D)

Wonderful! I've been looking for one of those yellow Roto's for a while. Good for you!

Well... bless my Bouncing Banana!!

Fred and Robert! You certainly didn't have to do that! That will be wonderful!

Naturally, I've got a standard ninety seven page document, (prepared by my attorney) Library/Congress #VS6739823 -subsection 2A - signed and notarized, with explicit shipping instructions that I will mail (USPS) to you. Bandwidth/document size of course prevent downloading it on the forum or E-mail.

Somewhat dismayed that so many vacuums are in varying shades of blue, gray, or red, I felt that my collection has always needed one that will stick out! Other than modern plastic units, this is the only vintage yellow machine (that isn't gold or harvest gold -ish)I know of. I am so thrilled. I will do my best on it.

Thank you both so much.

Rick

WOW, Fred, looks like you and Robert have both found some beautiful machines lately, especially the Hoover 63 and Lux AE. Love that GE on your other thread, too! Can't beat the prices, either!
And Robert, how thoughtful of you to give the Eureka to Rick! I know it will look like new when he's done with it!
Jeff
