I think Panasonic closed their vac-making plant in Kentucky and moved all operations to a cheaper work-force in Mexico. I may be wrong, but as of a few years ago, all Kenmores and Panasonics made for the North American market are being assembled south of the border. Notice how the description on Walmart's web-page says "parts are from the USA and/or other countries..." Still, it's nice to see that you might be able to get the same quality as a top-performing Kenmore Progressive canister vac in a Panasonic machine without having to deal with the pushy sales people, lack of replacement parts and expensive repair services at Sears! |

walmart has been trying to bring in high end items for sale with little success. in peoples minds walmart means low price. it also means low quality. |
