I was recalling my first times using an electrolux tonight and thinking about all the innovative features I thought the had at the time. I always remember my grandmother never letting me push her power nozzle (which she never ever ever used) across not carpted floor because the salesman several luxes ago told her not to. Mind you this is an elux silverado at the time when I was a kid. The day she let me finally use it I was in heaven I was not always allowed to use the pn with it but carpet tool only and it was a blast.

The second was with my childhood neighbor. His Name was Mr haas and he was the first person I have lost as a young child in death. He was a like a grandfather to me and was very tough. But anyhoo. He had what I now know to be an elux model 1205 with an pnII I believe. Well I was cleaning his house for the first time as I had interrupted his cleaning as I was a nosy little kid neighbor. Being the inquisitive person I am. Well he let me finish the cleaning.... Well low and behold it shut off a red light came on and made that funny noise like suction on a balloon you know. Well I thought I had broken it and went running. And he said well the bags full. Thats the day I fell in love with electroluxes. My parents had a dimension fully loaded and I would tell him it was broke so I could use his. God rest his sole and little did he ever know what he started lol.

Thanks for reading needed to vent I guess to those who understood. Does anyone else have a similar epiphany to share?

I stay up very late cause I work night so I have lots of time to write away. I was also feeling sentimental as I live so far from my family. I hope more people share there stories.

I had a similar nieghbor Matt. We called him Mr.P(his name was Pete), he was kinda like a grandfather to me and his grandchildren visited often. My sis and I woul climb the fence and played in our pretend house. He would brig home all kinds of trash finds...From Hoovers to beautiful(kinda) GE chrome toaser ovens etc. I would help him scrap the copper and Id play with them in the outdoor kitchen lol.
Not as ineresting as your story, but I feel you sentiment.
I also work nights and if its slow ot work I end up on here all hours too.

thanks

What happened to those days of those kind neighbors, I have one who is the most evil thing on earth she constantly bitches about me parking on the curb which she insists is her property. She even called the police and said we were parked in her front yard blocking her driveway. When we were around the corner on the side parked legally. The handsome officer just asked if we would not mind moving. I miss those days of the friendly neighbors. To all of those who do kudos to you cause you cant pick them thats for sure.

Very True... I hate neighbors like that. Its like why do people have to be so bitter sometimes.
I mean you don't have to love thy neighbor but at least try and get along seeing you(meaning her lol) have to live there. Oh well what goes around comes around.
Im luck to have pretty decent neighbors in this neighborhood as well as my last.

Electrolux Moments

Matthew, I have those feelings all the time...to me, every Electrolux moment is a fond moment. I'm with you on the innovative features; I used to be fascinated by the cord winders, and would pull out and rewind the cords constantly (I never could understand where the cord went when rewound). This is a strictly Canadian thing, but I also always loved the early electric hoses with the trigger switch; it made that pistol grip even more like a real pistol.

I love the trigger switch on my lux '89 hose also. I have a replacement hose and although it doesn't have the trigger switch it does have an on/off switch.
