So today I decided to Christen my newly acquired Royal 4650 Tank by cleaning out my car. It hasn't been vacuumed in probably 2 months now. I'm usually better about keeping it vacuumed than that! I used solely the upholstery brush on it, and I'm SHOCKED at the amount of dirt that thing pulled out of my car!

I normally use my TriStar CXL to vacuum the car, but the Royal handily outcleaned it. In the process, the bag got so choked with dirt and grime that the vacuum had hardly any suction left when I was done with it!!!

I filled 1/3 of a TriStar bag with DIRT and hair from Sophie. I have NEVER gotten that much dirt out of my car before.....not even when I lived in Lubbock!

Held up to the door...

Check it out........you can't even see daylight through the bag except for where it was flexed to remove it from the cloth bag! Now that's a clogged bag if I've ever seen one.... Talk about a beast of a vacuum! I'm lovin' this thing!

I have Pro-team bags in mine

I was surprised that mine didnt loose too much suction.I thought for sure it would after the 1st use because the bag is somewhat close to the flat wall inside,I wonder if its because in the car the dirt is finer/dustier or if its the type of bag? I got some Royal bags so I will see if they make a good/bad or no differance. Mabe the Tri-Star bag cloged easy because the Royal doesn't have that "cyclonic" action? I just vacuumed my car to from about a month but I didnt take a pick of the dirt-cup, there wasn't much fluff in mine tho cuz the dog rides with my dad lol.

Dirt

The dirt looks 'heavy' to me; of the type that you would find being trekked into shop carpets and hotel carpets. That style of dirt is usually composed of grit and heavier dust particles. Quite normal for a car - usually shades of dark brown to black.

On the other hand, household dirt is mainly lighter, fluffier stuff, and it usually looks light-coloured dust: greyish (or if you have red carpets, pinkish!).

You have to remember that people jump into the car right off of the street, carrying particles of dirt on the soles of their shoes (same with shops, clubs/bars and hotels). This dirt is composed of grit, exhaust soot, car tyre particles, even metallic and glass particles. Add in the fact that the wind carries dust and it will be deposited as it enters air vents and open car windows.

Don't be alarmed - that is common for a car.

However, if you have that in your household carpets (and you shouldn't!), then your previous vacuum cleaner is absolute rubbish!
