I was working at the Vac Shop today, and was going through everything looking for spare parts I needed. Well I found a Compact Polishaire and a Magic Disc. Both in their original box unused. They just have a bit of rust on them from sitting in there for so long. I had no clue what the Magic Disc was, then a good friend told me it was a carpet sweeper, and I think that is just amazing. LOL. Anyways, the parts are the baby blue/green, and I have to use them on the CXL, but now I want the matching Compact for the tools. If you know what model it is, or you have one, please comment on this thread or shoot me an email at lynard_eats_elvis@hotmail.com Thanks, Chase |

This should be in the vintage forum. These polish airs and majic discs are early 60s pieces. The polish air goes back to the 40s as well. |

What Vac Shop would that be that is allowed to employ 13 year old boys? Just very curious...maybe you should fill in your backstory for us, Chase? Anyhoo, the green/blue - turquoise - Compact Electra is probably, and in my experience, the commonest Compact colour out there, not to be confused with the sky blue shade. I recall it as the model C-6 & C-7 but I'm at work right now. Dave |

I have been "shopping" at this vac shop as long as I can remember, and the owner asked me if I wanted to work part time, just to help out. He quotes "You probably know more than I do". This was a few months back. And every day that I am not busy I spend half of my day working on vacuums, answering the phone, and help "convince or persuade" people to buy a certain make or model. Thank You Very Much, Chase...... |

Back home now - prior to the C5, Compacts came in a pale pinkish beige (C1, C2) with the long elliptical Compact decal graphic and the 1949-1958 (C3, C4) colour was a pale baby blue with the chromed plastic Compact script logo on one side and a ever changing sequence of decal graphics on the opposite side to denote years of manufacture between 5 year Anniversary Editions. The Turquoise blue/green Compact colour was introduced in 1958/59 with the C5 and was the standard colour right through the 1978 C8. 1971 was the introduction of the C7 Compact Electra nameplate. The C8 (1973) was also put out in other colours we are familiar with - apple green, tangerine orange, jaundice yellow, all with the Flower Power side decal. The C9 from 1979-81 added the sky blue colour and then in 1982 Compact became TriStar CXL, etc. with the duo-tone colour schemes , usually with a mottled silver/gray bag lid with whatever other solid and mottled 'splattertone' colours were applied to the top and bottom halves of the shell - maroon, beige, silver, gray, off white. I've never seen a Compact/TriStar in Hammertone of any shade. What colour schemes are your CXLs, Chase & Ryan? Pictures soon, please... Dave |
