How can a Floor Washer scrub floor w/o a rotating brush? Does it have a "vibrating" brush like the Rug Doctor? I've never used or seen one (in real life but I've seen them on ads & this site) maybe more durable than the Floor Mate of today.

Search the archives, there are a few comprehensive Threads about the Hoover Floor Washer in the Vintage section as well as a scanned manual.

It's really more like a stylish electric floor brushmop with cleaning solution on board. Another setting of the control handle sucks up the dirty scrub water and drys the floor with warm motor exhaust.

Dave - a teensy bit more helpful.

it

actually works quite well. I have one and love using it. Its vintage and sucks up more water than my newer one. Try ebay I find them on there every now and then.
