My brothers girlfriend gave me a Kirby Tradition today. It has been in there basement for 5 years! They have 6 other older Kirbys to, and she uses them all. This one is a Franken Kirby, it has a Classic III handle and cord. It is missing the head, tools, light lens, light itself, and the blue part that goes above the hood. She has all of the tools, and her mom is going to get them all to me ASAP! I will probably get used parts, bit by bit from, eBay, and get it going real good. But is there anyway that I can get it factory rebuilt? I know it would cost a lot if I am not the orignal purhchaser but it would be nice, as I am in the middle of working on the Eureka Model K. So I have quite a bit on my plate at the moment. Thank You, and if you have any old tradition parts that you have no need for please let me know. I would like to get the following: new bag, new handle grip, new wheels, and the head. She has the head, and tools, but I do not know when I am going to get it all.

you will love that Kirby Tradition

when it is all rebuilt and shiny it will look very regal looking. I love my tradtion. The only thing I don't like about it is it doesn't seem to have as much suction as my other kirbys. I think I am going to change it over to the mini-emptor bag sytem then I can use the new hepa bags in it..Maybe that will give it more suction... I did that to my classic three and it works great.....

Tradition Suction

Did you check the felt gasket on the Emptor Door? As they age they get depressed and start to leak or sometimes fall out. This can cause dust to leak out and some suction loss. Also does the bag need to be washed out because it is glogged with dirt.
