Has anyone ever seen a Filter Queen Optima? I think it was FQ's attempt to create a bagged vacuum. I contacted FQ and they can do a conversion for $199 plus shipping. That includes putting a new motor in it, a filter cone, and new dust bucket. I scrounged around and found everything I needed for about $25! And it works great! But question is: Why would they want to put a new motor in when the old one is perfectly good? It's only one speed and even has a higher amp rating than the usual FQ motor. Does that somehow affect its performance in a negative way?
