You need to be familiar with the GE Roll Easy to understand this one, a true story from the 1950's or early '60's. Seems a Rexair/Rainbow salesman was demoing to a couple who had a Roll Easy. After doing the air wash segment of the demo, and showing how their vac spews filth into the air he said "You don't want this filthy thing in your house, do you?" or words to that effect, and, as was his custom, opened the door and tossed their vac, the Roll Easy out the door and onto the front porch. Seems the Roll Easy didn't stop there, though. It rolled off the porch and down the hill in front of their house, and on into the street, where a passing truck ran over it, destroying it. A shame to destroy an old vac, but a hilarious story.

At no point in a demo do you distroy a vac before you get the sale.

I bet they had to replace it for free or give them a rexair for free.
Imagine that on salesmen from Hell tv program!

OUCH...it would be so neat to have a roll easy to use for awhile. I have only ever seen one in person. They really are unusual machines. Thanks for the great story!

That Rainbow salesperson should have to give the client the new Rainbow vacuum or buy him a new GE RollEasy vacuum. Then the distributor the salesman works for should fire him right on the spot. What was done in that situation was actually illegal.I haven't seen or used a RollEasy-but would like to.they sound like a interesting and perhaps convenient machine.I did see a RollEasy on a Dennis the Menace episode-Dennis's father was picking the machine up from a repair shop-the repair technician explained the vacuum should not be used to pick up leaves. It seemed Dennis used it try to VACUUM the yard rather than rake the leaves.

Is that a pathetic display of incompetance or what? "not to worry ma'am, lets get this piece of crap out of the way" HURL...SMASH

I'd have fired him for being an idiot alone ;p
