Convert a PN that plugs into the handle into a PN that plugs into a typical wall outlet? Do I need a special cord or anything? Im thinking of doing this with my Kenmore powerhead since all my attempts to fix it at the wand connection failed. My aunt had a old kenmore canister that she cleans her cars with so i asked if I could just have the power head so I have been running that one. If I could get that other powermate hard wired then that would be cool to use too I guess..I don't know..Im bored..Thanks guys! Happy Memorial Day!

I believe they make a cord for that purpose for central vacs.

That said, if you don't mind something looking hokey, you can do what I did.

I took an old Kirby cord that had a bad machine end on it and a TriStar hose that had a broken wire in the hose portion to make an adapter so I can run PN's on machines that don't normally have them.

Here's a pic below of my "contraption"... Didn't cost a cent to build, just some time, a couple drops of solder, and some electrical tape. The foil tape over the end is to protect the electrical tape from sunlight since it will rot when exposed to UV.
