Just didn;t look mint
Not sure if its still there
but might trade it for the Hoover Scrub Vac thats not a rug vac.

Were they any good
It really didn't look substantial like a electrolux should be
Plastic...

Still I don't need it but I can only return my Hoover for store credit.

they are pretty good. I have 2 of them. not the best for deep cleaning but they are good on bare floors. and if you vacuum for a while then the Brushroll motor tends to over heat and you ahve to unplug it and wait a few mintues.

Its a nice unit. I like the Lux uprights. Its like a L shaped canister PN with the suction unit above it. It has the standard Lux features like the helix brush roll, geared belt, and self sealing bags. I'd go for it.

The hoover scrub vac really cleans the rug nice
might just have to keep it
its quiet & if leav es the nap fluffy & its not too wet so it really has not much you could even extract

The lux upright might have een close to $30
might look but don't want to buy anymore unless they are great performers

looked at brushroll
wool & the space bars were just sort of wirethin
it just didn[t seem built well.

Got my first Lux Upright

Went back after noon hoping it would be there but thinking someone must have bought it...still if it was meant to be it will be.

Went in & over to electronic section & there it was.
It looked better than yesterday.

Tested it in the store
has one setting for no brushrool & one for brushroll.

It had good suction & motor sounded great.

So its mine & the best thing is today was 40% off so got it for a song!!!!

Just got home & wanted to share my good news
It has a new bag in it...says U but its different than the usualU.

Anyway pretty soon I'll give it a wipedown & ateast run on my newly shanmpooed carpets.

I feel just a hunch at dates of both vacs being in 88ish that the hoover scrb nvac may have been donsted with the lux

So they are together again!

I think this vac could be my daily runner.

Yeah can find homes for some of the others...

Pics to follow.

Thankd 4 the advice

Looking at it today its almost mint
Don't know where my head was yesterday but I have tried to stop buying vacs but sometimes its hopsless...LOL

cord its spit in half to insulation

The thrill is gone

Guess it needs a new cord.

It was taped I'll have to retape uts pretty bad.
I have a few cords don't think it should be too hard.

Arrrgh
I can return for credit but it was about $20 so its worth repairing

Is it the cord in the end (top) of the Handle???? If it is
they were recalled my Electrolus at some point.
I'm sure someone else can give you more detail !!!

I have a Discovery Lux upright for the 80's. Like the
upright and the on and off brush. Just never had any
real suction on the attachments. I had the deluxe set
with the Side kic for the steps. I had bought before
the deluxe set, the basic straight suction set. No
differenece
Let me know if you would like the set of straight
attachments. Brand new. I'd interested to know if
your has good suction with the tools.

Cord is in the middle of the back thats where it enters the machine
Least its not a recalled model

Will get a pic after I get a bite to eat.

Have to seperated & tape the cord so it won't short.

I see some copper wire showing at the wire in the base of the unit
strange

The coed enters the back base & its a square sort of end that goes into the unit so a regular cord will wobble around

Cord will cost more than the vac.

Gosh I have a silverado & a 2100 w a pn6
should just get a good hose & use those...

Still you know how it is the thrill of a new machine

LOL

Gave it a spin

inside white & black wires were individually taped so might be into copper. They looked solid so left them & retapped the wire together. It seems fine.

Has good suction & motor is not too loud but does have thatlux pn type whine.

Only quirks is it is really sucking the carpet so it is hard to push.
There are no height adjustments
There is no control to put the head down you have to push it down with your foot..odd
also if you want to lift the head up to go over rug fringes or to go up you can't do it by bringing the handle down.
The vac will lay flat on the ground never lifting the head. I'm sure thats a bonus for under beds & things.

Impression I wouldn't pay full price but for what I paid its fine.

Not sure if I'd like it as a daily driver I guess main reason its hard to push but then again not quite as bad as the Eureka ESP's w vibragroom...those also hold onto the carpet for dear life. They are great suckers...

LOL

Will play more tomorrow
It was quite clean just a few threads on brushroll...
Whoever had it took care of it except for chewing the cord

Electrolux upright cord in handle

I have a very nice Electrolux Genesis upright. The cord comes out of the top of the handle and it is all taped up there(it needs a new cord) are these cords still available or not because of the recall on this type of cord on handle. I have another nice handle with a good cord on it that comes out the back of the handle. The problem with this handle is the switch doesn't work. Is it possible that the switch from the (top cord) handle will fit in the (back cord handle) if so I can just change the switch from one to the other. I wonder if this handle will fit on the Genesis machine.. any suggestions?
