Hi Si: I was trying to find the sage green rug nozzle, crevice tool and the clip that holds the brush onto the top of the machine for the ZC90. The charcoal dual dusting brush and the brush head for the crevice tool for the model 330 and the crevice tool and paint sprayer for the model 30. I need copys of the instruction manuals for all of these machines too. Thanks for the help. Doug |

Excellent buy there Simon, I`m sure there are bits n bobs around to make a complete set!!! this was my Grans vac, although she upgraded the main floor tool to the pink/cream one from the Z65 when it came out....lovely & quiet.. Hi Doug, those Z90`s are like gold dust, will certainly keep eyes open for spares though, i have the instructions so i`ll start scanning.... |

yea all the series seemed to have the hanging bracket from z30 right thru to z80/trident. My parents wouldnt risk our 55 when i was a kid, but i hung my "challenge" ( burgundy and grey 65 body) up like that for years! it never came down!! si |

Si, grans was a 1951 model also, yes she aquired a number of different tools from within the family, they where always kept in an old biscuit box on the pantry shelf under the stairs...and yes the rubber crevice was the first to bite the dust.. Bob, most of the models came with the wooden boxes, also known as the "salesmans" box...they would have needed their iron carrying those from door to door...LOl I love the motor housings from these old vacs, nothing like bakelite & metal!!! aahhh... |

Already pointed out I'm sure but the European Z55 & Z62 are dead ringers for the Canadian Z30 and Z50 series. We call it 'The Loaf'. Save for the runners design - your's have skids - and the choice of leatherette covering and the angled blades for the power cord they look identical. I daresay the hose coupler with the ball bearing catch for 360 rotation is brilliantly simple and spreads the side loads evenly around the connection. Btw Doug, I really appreciate you posting the Z55 manual. Very informative and I like the British terms, The Lounge and The Hall. :-) Polished aluminum and baklite - oh yes! Dave |

Hi: It appears your 62 had the bayonette cord connection on the machine (2 flat pins on an angle) In Canada the 30 and 50 series machines all still had the two round pins. I think the scent liquid you were refering to was called T2 by Electrolux - I still have a bottle somewhere. The Canadian Z30 and Z50 series machines were based on the Swedish design (which is what the English machines are) but with slight modifications (Like the skids) Doug |

I forgot to ask...does moving the hose to the middle of the front end have any effect on suction/performance, or is it merely a cosmetic thing? |

Hi Si: The Red one is a 55 (I have a picture of the information plate on the bottome of it too). In canada the model 57 was the first one to have a paper bag but they didnt move the location of the hose connection. Instead an extension tube was added to the inside and the bag was fitted over it in the same fashion that the Hoover convertable's bag attaches. I'm not certain where the Z designator for the series came from but the second letter seems to designate the country of origin. ZB was Canada ZC was England ZA was Sweden. I have seen both ZE and ZK designators on machine for sale in Australia's ebay so I'm not certain which was their designator. Doug |

Even the new Electroluxes in Sweden have model numbers that begin with "Z" - here's the link to the webpage for the new UltraOne vac: www.electrolux.se/node37.aspxQUES...

Hey Si - According to my booklet (I'll email you a copy later) Electrolux made the Norvac N50 (which was the same as the model 55) from 1958-1960 in light blue leatherette with black ends. They also made the Volta UL130 in 1959 in Beige with Maroon ends. Here's another picture from the net of the 48. All the original parts but a replacement hose. I'd love to get hold of one of them. They were sold in Canada briefly when the factory here went on strike in the 1950's but I've only ever seen two and couldnt grab them at the time. Doug |

Hey Si: The 48 (1951-56)was the first machine to take the bayonette fitting. The 60 (1957-60)was the successor of the 48 and was pretty much the same machine except for colour (see below). The ends and handle were red plastic and the body red/black/white multi fleck which resulted in a sort of tan colour. Where the European machines changed over entirely to the bayonette fitting hoses by 1965 the Canadian machines never used them at all and kept the ball snap action fitting till the end of the model 89 run in 1973. (again a picture from the net) |
