Has anyone else seen one of these? I was at my friends vac shop today and I tried it, it's similar to the Ultra's in some ways. It cleans very well and takes the Type Z HEPA cloth bags, definitely an Oreck killer! And the price is even better, only $199! It's also pretty quiet, and lightweight.

I wonder if you could put a VGII in it, I think it might be possible.

Hi Alex,

I have sold a couple already. They appear to be very well built and sturdy. They have awesome airflow since they are direct air, the air passage is massive and the Z bags are very high flow bags. The light weight aspect is also really nice.

There are only two downfalls I can see. First is that there is no cord wrap, only a hook on which to hang the cord once you have wound it up and secured the bundle with the attached velcro cord wrap. The other is that the bottom plate has several cross bars across the brush roll opening. While this may strenghen the machine and prevent bogging and ingestion of area rugs, it also leave lots of lines on your carpet when you vacuum.

All in all, a very good machine for the money, I suspect I will sell a lot of these. The two I have sold so far have been Oreck replacements. A big plus, it is much, much quieter than a screming oreck.

Andy

Look at the size of the air passage

Bag holder, again look at the size of the opening into the bag, more than 3x the size of Oreck

Yes!! Just got one of those-SWEET LITTLE MACHINE-and yes an Oreck killer. It even works well on my deep pile carpets. Was surprized at what it picked up.And yes I vacuumed the floor the day before with my Sentria.I am waiting for the dealer here to get the Filtrete type "Z" bags-he told me the machines were released --but the bags weren't "released" to market yet.He told me I wasn't the only one wating for those bags.

Of course in typical Sanitaire style it uses a round belt and appears to be Vibra-Groomer I/II compatible. I love how so many Sanitaire parts are interchangeable.

The Vibra-Groomer brushroll can fit into the floor nozzle-BUT the bristles on the Vibra-Groomer brush hit the dividors on the 9050's floor shoe. You would have to trim those bristles-also the bristles on the orig brushroll actually are longer-project thru the floor shoe further.I tried this at the dealer where I bought mine-we both had the idea--we thought--"Pimp Your Vacuum" but didn't quite work out.The orig brushroll works really well.

New Sanitaire upright

That machine looks very similar to a Eureka Ultra from the 80's

Tolivac - your dealer has it wrong on the bags. This machine was initially advertised in wholesaler flyers in November '08. I placed an order for several at that time along with the bags. I got the bags in December, however, production issues and holiday shutdowns delayed the machine until just a few weeks ago, mid-April. The machine and the bags are both now readily available.

Where's the power switch? No height adjustment? Looks like a very attractive machine!

Nope, no heigh adjustment. I think thats why it has all the bars across the brushroll openeing, to keep it from bogging down and let it "auto" adjust to any carpet. The power switch is on the top of the dirt tube on the back. If you look at the picture of the back you can see it on the left, the cord comes out of the right side.
