I was going through some old vcr tapes of vacuum infomerials from years ago and found one for the "VAC-MAN". It was a direct copy of the RexAir. The watewr basin was even the brown color of a RexAir. It had plastic wands and the power brush had the cord on the outside of the hose. The machine was blue and grey with a dolly like the RexAir. The tools rode on the dolly. They would let you try it for $39.95 for 30 days. The infomercial said it costs less than 1/4 the price of a RexAir which they said sold for $1800.00.
Did anyone remember this machine or own one?
Also found vcr tapes of infomercials for Electrolux,Hoover and Fantom. Little did I know that in a few short years these companies would all be gone as we knew them!

Anybody Remember the Vac-Man?

Bill,
I forgot about the Silver King tape. I know I have that one somewhere. I have never even seen or used a Silver King. I remember a club memeber telling they are good until they get a thin layer on the filter. The demo tape makes them look very powerful.
I am waiting for my "Garry Vac" to arrive. I saw the infomercial and just had to try one!

Anybody Remember the Vac-Man

I have an update on the Vac-Man. I got an email from a most reliable vac lover that the VAC-MAN was bought out and now is called the OceanBlue. It still looks like a Rexair to me. The web site is WWW.Oceanblue.com.
I wonder how they perform and what they cost? Looks like a nice power nozzle.

I have seen a few for sale. they are a little more than rainbows. Some around $3,500. Supposed to be far superior to rainbow.

OceanBlue

I like that machine. I wonder if they make larger size water basins. My house is 3000 sq. ft. and I don't want to dump it soo much with 6 cats and a large dog....Bill in Az....

Anybody Remember the Vac-Man

Bill'
I was checking their "extras" and they do offer a bigger water basin.
I find it interesting that their are all these different companiers out in the market place that I have never seen before. It looks like a copy of an 20 year old Rexair to me.
I can't imagine it being better than the "real" Rexair. Even the infomercial is copied from the way they used to demo a Rexair.

While it hardly looks like a rainbow at all...

I have heard so many times how good these vacuums are. Much better than rainbow.

Anybody Remember the Vac-Man?

Where are you getting your information Brandon?
The only thing I see different from a Chrome dome Rexair is the power nozzle. Is that why you said it works better?
As far as I can see the dolly, water pan, separator, hose, switch, exhaust all look like as Rexair and even the instruction book is copied after the Rexair instruction book as far as the use and care of the machine.
The specs are given on the web site and they are not that much different from the Rexair.
Have you seen the demo of the machine? I have never seen one in our part of the country even at the Home Show.
I do like the the way they reversed the shiny trim from top on the Rexair to the middle on this machine. Nice color.
