Well, except a Compact and this one.

I couldn't pass it by - it was just too mint! I stopped at an estate sale today and found this beautiful Lux 1205. I haven't touched it, just brought it in the house for a quick photo shoot. I made a promise to myself that I wouldn't bring in any more vacs unless they were absolutely mint. I got the Compact new in box which does raise the bar on the definition of mint, but this one was close. It works perfectly, the power nozzle barley has a scratch on the plate!

I'll get some more pictures up when I have a chance to give it a bath and a bit of polish.

OK, now I'm done - positively no more! (unless it's a turquoise G, or a...)

????

Now thats not the spirit. No vacuums? Thats what mom and dad say- but not what I think. And I am sure vacfanatic thinks similar too! I hear he will get to see your vacuums some day. I hope I can too.

the lux looks great too.

I have never seen an estate sale here in omaha that had something other than a bagless junker. lucky you!

Greg that is one beautiful 1205. It appears that it had a very easy life!! Wow even a shag rug tool. Now you will be all set when you order all that new Shag carpeting!!!!

Rules are meant to be broken...

...and for a 'lux 1205 (I just got mine a few days ago!) you'd have been a fool to pass it up.

Besides...you don't HAVE to call it a vacuum. You can call it an "electric shag rug rake."

And...yah know....yeah, we call these "vacuums" but a lot of them are "blowers" as well. So, I would imagine a lot of your collection could be called "blowers" reducing the number of "vacuums" to a more manageable level. Some are "demothers" too, that can be used as "vacuums." We just happen to pick one feature of these multi-purpose machines and call it that.

And besides...it's just a little ole 'Lux. They tuck into small spaces very nicely.

Congrats!

John

Very Nice Machine .... Brings me back somewhat.

Nice Lux Greg,
The 1205 was the first Lux I used, at the time, after a very long dry spell.
That was the machine "laying around the house" at a friend's house.
Had many opportunities to use it since parties were pretty prevalent at that house at the time.
Very fond memories.
It was, of course, the first model with the bag compartment laying horizontally.
It launched the whole steel body of that era.
Great machine and, of course, a great find.
Damn, Omaha has great estate sales .... need to get out and give Milwaukee a chance .... I'm sure there are alot of opportunities around here as well ... just need to get out.
And now I can that I'm mostly settled in my new place and ready to "rock n roll" on my own time .... YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Enjoy your great find and lets talk soon.
Pat

Nice Find, Greg!

That's one beautiful 1205! Everything looks complete and original, too! I think chances are actually better for finding vintage machines at estate sales than at flea markets or thrift stores, because an estate sale usually means that an elderly person has gone to assisted living, a nursing home, or passed on, and usually elderly people have vintage things. Even if they have replaced them, they usually exile them to the attic or basement instead of throwing them out. I got one of my 966 Electro-Hygienes at an estate sale, and there was a Hoover Slimline in the basement, but I passed it up. Congratulations on a great find!

Hey Greg

Like John said, you would have been a fool to pass that up!

Those old Luxes were so great. I have a 1205 I need to get back in shape. They just had a great feel to them.

Congratulations on your new addition!
