I have my rainbow D4c (regular not se)

Curved wand handle- no pistol grip.

Will this work with my vacuum? How will I connect the little plug onto the hose?

there is

no handle. the cord goes from the PN to the hose port

so you have the old style PN cord that straps on the hose. It would probably be easiest to just replace the hose if you're wanting to use the little mini PN. It's more convenient to use than the old style hose anyway.

Otherwise you'd have to conjure up some sort of extension cord to go from the canister to the mini PN.

Money's a problem? Skip it till you can afford the right hose and PN for it. ;-)

Gotcha. I know tose type, but I thought there was still a place to plug/unplug the pn near the handle. like the old luxes the cord that ran around the hose was like an extention cord ending around the handle, with the outlet for the PN that way you could quickly disconnect the PN for attachment use and not have to disconnect it at the machine end or swich hoses. Get me?lol Or am I wrong and the cord goes from the PN to the canister like the Kenmore Spray-Mate did.

nope

The cord is around 10 + feet long. runs from pn to the port on the rainbow motor

Eric Tristar is right. It's meant to be clipped to the hose. A major design flaw with that particular PN. I suppose Rexair expected the housewife to leave it that way dedicated to PN use and that's why so many Rainbows with that setup come with a second hose for tool use.
