with a dryer softener sheet--Gets out gritty dirt that can ruin or even clog a hose & freshens exhaust. I give customers a box of dryer sheets with the vacs I sell--that way the hose would clog less easy.

Interesting.......

I can't say I've ever had a hose clog up with gritty dirt, or fail from said dirt. Even shop vacs.

About the only thing that a dryer sheet is good for in a vacuum is to remove a blockage like a piece of grass or something that got wedged in sideways.

Ever get funny looks when you sell a customer a vac and present them with a $1.50 box of dryer sheets? :-)

I have never heard of that trick for vacuums. I will have to try it some time when i get a new old vacuum.

Never heard that one before either. I do sometimes put a dryer sheet in a new bag, provides a great scent while you are cleaning!

I have gotten dryersheets stuck in a couple hoses lol, but usualy there was something else stuck sideways like Tristar said. I almost always put a Bounce or Snuggle in the vacuum bag or compartment. I have a hoover Scrapvvy as a daily driver for when im in a hurry(I like to have an uright handy to grab n go) and i put the dryer sheet on the exaust filter. i put it b4 the filter tho so it extends the life of the filter slightly.

I use a couple drops of Eucalyptus oil on a cotton ball in the bag.
