Here's a question for the Tristar experts -- something I've been wondering about. I have a CXL. But what is the difference between it and the DXL (if any). I know Tristar came out with one model that had the geared power nozzle belt. Was that the DXL? Also, what is the EX20. That seems to be a "catch-all" designation for all pre-Aerus models. Just wondering if someone can shed some light! Thanks! And hope everyone is having a most pleasant Easter!

ex20

IIRC- that is the first new style- I think. I bet tristar will know the answer.

The CXL and the DXL were for all practical purposes the same cleaner! About the only difference I know of is the label on the PN is different. Some CXL's had fancy paint jobs, but all the late CXLs, DXL, and EX-20's all had the same speckled gray paint.

I don't even know if the EX-20 was any different. It may have introduced the geared belt at some point in it's life, but from what I've been told, the geared belt was introduced VERY late in the life of that PN style.

The EXL was the very first of the "square body" designs and frankly what I consider the death of the TriStar/Compact line. Other people disagree, but I just don't care for the looks. Don't get me started on the MG1 and MG2......those are NOT TriStars as far as I'm concerned. Those are Luxes in Pig's clothing!
