I would go for the FQ. I think there is less to go wrong bearing and motor wise. Then again I have a Rainbow, I don't have Filter Queen and have always wanted one so that my be influencing my advice.

..

I think its overpriced for being 17+ years old. So Im just going to stick with my $40 rainbow E series.

I thought the listing said "Five Year old Filter Queen with Attachments" I didn't think $150 was out of line.

Maybe I got the wrong listing.

no it did say that

And the guy has no idea what he is talking about. it is a FQ 95x. That PN was done being made long ago. they are plastic now (I think). I was talking to someone who owns one, so I think he knows what it is.

Hey Brandon! That's the black, gray, and chrome Majestic, which was the first FQ with the Majestic name on it. I owned one, and IMHO, would give the much newer Majestic 360 I have now a run for its money. Then again, I also own an E-Series Rainbow that I wouldn't give up either. So, you'd be getting a good vac either way, but the FQ is probably less likely to have hidden problems. Just my 2 cents. Later, Trg

I think that it is a fair price for the Filter Queen, I payed $100 more than that for my mint condition model 95x. I have a friend who had the same model and she bought it new from a friend who was a dealer and that was in 1991. In my opinion better than a rainbow and no mucky nasty water to deal with.

looks like

I am going with nether rainbow or FQ and a tristar instead.

The lady with the rainbow totally backed out of the deal, and the FQ is too expensive to my mom.

So maybe the CXL or the old kirby will have to be used every day.

How often

do you vacuum? I vacuum everyday. Dogs. I'm afraid I would find a Rainbow a nuisance, since I vacuum that often. Filling the water basin. Emptying it. Cleaning it. I think that would get old. I'd go with the FQ, if I had a chance to buy one. Just a thought.

Every other day

We have a chocolate lab, and she sheds a lot.

Some of us have allergies. A rainbow would really save us. But I am afraid I will never afford one for a long time.

The FQ is just too far out of the price range right now.

I vacuum daily since I have 2 cats in my HH & allergys (even one of the cats have allergies) so I use the FQ while I wait 4 the TriStar 2 b repaired. All cer. tile & a few throw rugs so I don't use the PN--just the floor brush even on rugs.
