Kids will be Dorks.....no matter how old they get! All that air flow, and the nozzle is firmly sucked to the rug!

You know the saying, suck a golf ball through a garden hose? I think the Compact could suck a bowling ball through one!

Well, that's it for this one. Back in the box. Back out in another thirty-five years! I'll only be eighty-seven! Might consider getting it back out before then!

No NIB Compact Electra's were harmed during the making of this photo-play

Very nice Rick! Very nice indeed!

And hey, if you don't make it to 87, we'll have you cremated, vacuum up your ashes with it, and stick the vac in the columbarium....how's that?

That's the way I want to go. Either in my Electrolux or Royal canister. I'm Episcopalian, so I know the priest will go for it if I slip him a bottle of good Scotch.

Rick, what fun!!! I think the unveiling party was such a neat idea. I am so happy that your family is interested in your hobby. So do tell did the NIB Compact pull any dirt out of your beautiful carpet?

What a nice gift.

Terry I think they're just humoring him like that one that lives with me does. It's all about the will really. Like I told you, soon as I'm gone to my reward the 1-800-Got Junk truck will be in the driveway pronto.

They don't come no newer than that without Sherman and the Wayback Machine. Congrats Rick - couldn't go to a nicer, more color coordinated guy. Hey, yer delightful Daughter simply takes after her dorky Dad. Your wife's (?) arm is commendably tolerant as well. :-)

Well next time don't wear any clothes then if you don't want people commenting on them. I think most here will agree to that.

Very Nice Rick

I heard there were a few of the gold ones to be had. Terry, you are such a gem to bestow such a gift to our Crevicetool. I do have a question though. I thought the gold ones had the electric power nozzle included, at least that was my understanding from others that got one. That color combination was my absolute favorite of all the Compacts. Very nice pictures too!

Yes Rick, does yours have a PN socket under the lid latch for later upgrade? It does look like there is something dark and mysterious there in your Compact's 'crevice'...

My old yellow daisy one that I painted in iron gray speckletone does have the trwo pin socket but no evidence it has a cord retainer clip.

yes

there is a port right where one should be. So you do have a PNable compact!

But have fun trying to find a pn for that. They are ultra super duper uber rare. I have actually never ever seen one.

But the guy from ebay does have a goldie with a PN for $240.

So does anyone have a picture to post of the Yellow Mike Douglas Daisy-ed Compact with the correct PN? Maybe a scan of a manual page? Then we can decide how 'ultra super duper uber rare' one is. I can't recall one pictured and if so, is it also yellow?

A streamlined chrome Filter Queen Majestic PN would look stellar with it, properly fitted out, since both vacuums use the same powerful motor & turbines. You could decorate it with some bathtub stick-on Daisys. :-) I am not kidding! The smoothed styling with faired-in headlight is complimentary.

It is so thrilling to touch and gaze at something that is Brand New! Watch out, Rick, for the other jealous Compacts & Tristars - they'll try to play bumpercars and fling their bag lids open to chip its flawless pebbletone like junkers in a parking lot pulled in next to the Cadillac. :-)

Would the Dating Game daisy version suffice or does it have to be the Mike Douglas one?

Dave. Yes, It does have a power zapper plug in front toward the bottom. The machine did not come with a motorized brush roll unit however. I am just thrilled to be the new keeper of this time capsule. Pete, the family continuously reminds me that I will be soon be ready for Shady Pines. They have begun placing little stickers on everything with their initials on them so in the mad dash -

The pns were a rare option. But you do have a complete compact that is brand new. What could be better than that. Congratulations.

If I had bought one, it would have been used every day until it quite! thats just me...

I Could Have Sworn

I had the ad from Compact for the C-9 (gold) with PN (I know Tania has one, she had it down here last weekend while we were celebrating a Compact-themed get-together. I do not believe that they were that uncommon. I have one on the way and will post some pics when I get it. This picture is of the C-80 which I do have (earlier than the gold C-9.) I also have the carpet shampooer in gold which will go with the C-9. I bought the C-80 brand new in Palm Springs in the early 80's. Tania told me I got a great deal. One of the few vacuums I bought back then new and actually kept. I used to buy machines and give them away or trade them so people wouldn't think I was nuts. We've come a long way babies.

I Went Searching For The C80

And found the picture of my actual machine. Also with a later turbo brush (didn't come with the machine.) Isn't that a gorgeous color?

nice!

I have actually seen a machine that matched the nozzle. A real neat looking vacuum. Ithink it was very rare, the light greenish blue like that.

The carpet shampooer in Gold. The C-80 and C-9 came with the power nozzle standard I do believe. Check out the flowers.

Wow, great stuff!!!!

Fred, thanks so much for the pictures and the expertise! And Tania! How wonderful to hear from you again! And Pete - Doris Day! Alan - not forgetting you either kid. Even Dorky Dave - Thanks! I know we've had this conversation - just recently- ahem! But the manual that came with my machine, printed in 1974 says C-8. Before I put it back in the box, maybe I should have checked the bottom of the machine. So, it's a C-9 huh?

Wow,
Rick

The C-8

According to Tania came in both green and then later gold. So Rick, yours could very well be a C-8. Not quite sure where the C-80 fits into the picture.

Fred, that C 80 is so pretty!! I think that was my favorite color that Compact ever made.

Need to clear something up here!

I wish that I could win the lottery so that I could give everyone on here a brand new in the box Compact but that hasn't happened yet!! But there is always hope. I did not give Rick the Compact, I was just the one that was in contact with the seller so I order them. Rick being the great guy that he is, said to just not worry about this but I wanted to set the record straight. Terry

You are the best!! I understand you being compelled to do what you did, and an important ingrediant to the recipe of who you are. If you left out honesty, the end result wouldn't be Terry Lattz. Something I have always admired about you. I would have done the same thing.

Robb,

Thank you...Terry is a wonderful, caring person...as far as I am concerned... I have won the lottery...just having Terry and many of you as friends is worth more than any amount of money could ever do.

Rick, you are a great guy...I love your humor....you keep this forum alive and well.

By the way, my Green Compact arrived today...my first Compact, new in the box and 30 years old...it doesn't get any better.
