Boscov's Dept store had it's yearly VIP Day Today. They have reps from all kinds of vendors in the store, with specials, etc...Crock Pot, Lenox China. HOOVER had a huge H U G E line of products there. Some guy named "Lis" was there with a TTI badge. A woman asked why the dusting brushes aren't as nice as they used to be, as she was looking at a cannister. He was stumbling. I wanted to say, "I'll tell you". There were Windtunnels there as well as the "Platinum" A mess..........

The rep probably wouldn't even know a real Hoover to see one. In fact I'd bet if you covered up the names and/or logs on both a 60's Eureka upright and a Hoover Convertible that rep would be stumped as to which was what.

Ah yes...I remember the days.....

when a dusting brush was a real dusting brush, not a strip of scratchy bristles that slide onto a fabric nozzle, nor a tiny toothbrush attached to a crevice tool.

The world has gone "bonkers," as my late father would say!

Well one Hoover today has a decent dusting brush and that's the new Constellation. It's got a very soft, thickly tufted natural bristle brush. Only problem is that Hoover forgot how to make a good dusting brush, so the bristles in the middle get sucked into the mouth of the nozzle. Gotta love Chinese "technology"...

I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN...I've got the new stainless steel Connie!

You are right, the suction is so strong, that the bristles on the dusting brush bend into the centre, blocking a lot of dust from getting sucked in. I have to keep removing the brush and cleaning the bristles with the hose end (my apartment is VERY dusty).

To me the best dusting brush is the old square Eureka one with real horsehair bristles. The bristles on the brush that comes with the new Connie are really weird and wonky and go all over the place and are not as soft as the Eureka's, IMHO.

I love the dusting brush from my early 90's Kenmore. I think that they are horse hair. I also love the brushes that came with the Hoover AeroDyne and mod 61,28 and cleaning ensemble
