Hi, Eric. I know you'll know. Those hoses that connect to the powernozzles, on the ribbed outside of the hose, is that where the electrical wire run or are the some how inside the hose? Just wondering.....Bill in Az.... and thanks!!

The Answer...

I can actually answer this one! I'm assuming you're referring to a TriStar hose? If so, I've actually taken one apart to make my jacklegged PN cord for my non-PN vacuums.

The wiring is actually cast into the ribbing of the hose. The pattern is a 4 rib spiral, so there is a blank rib, then one wire rib, then another blank rib, then another wire rib. That spirals around until it is cast into the handle piece that houses the plug receptacle.

I would imagine that other makes and models of vacuums are very similar in this regard.

Hose...

I took a picture of the hose with one of the remnants I had available. Now you can see for yourself how the hose is made!
