So I decided to run to Good Will tonight after work, and I found a Kirby Heritage II with the large sized power nozzle. The headlight hood was all smashed, bag was torn, metal had real deep scratches, cord was taped up, and the emtor was cracked and didnt seal correctly anymore. I kept looking and spotted a purple handle... could it be? Yes! A Dyson DC07 Animal, $49!!! Needs just a few attachments, a few replacement parts, and a bit of cleaning magic, and it will be good as new!

Nice find

For that price, even a dyson is a good find!

Good, Dysons are beginning to show up in Thrift Stores. May have to get one now. :-) Looks like no cracked or brocken parts and fairly clean.

But Dear Lord, that convoluted airsteam path will always offend the engineer in me...

Oh in omaha too!

Didn't notice it was you, vacfanatic!

I have never found any vacuums at the good wills here yet.

Andrew, a great find and fun to play with!!! We all knew that it had to happen sooner or later, I have a feeling that more and more Dyson's will be finding their way to the thrift shops.

Grit & fluff in the filters

This would indicate that there may be a whole pile of rubbish clogging the upper reaches of the cyclone unit. Clogging in that area was a common flaw of the DC07 design.

The amount of grit that appears to have passed through the motor is alarming to say the least!

Grit does seem to get through the cyclone system on Dysons - I've noticed it often on my machines. Never nearly as much as that, though, but I clean my filters regularly! This grit is what the new Core Separator stage is designed to eliminate.
