Well today was a good day for me.
First thing it was my day off and there was actually a local estate sale.
Before the sale while waiting for Sears to come service my P.O.S garden tractor and Kenmore range, (both of which are still under warranty)I won a Singer C-3 Golden Glide with box and attacvhments in the caddy on ebay, also won a Hoover Concept Two Electronic. I am very excited about both of those finds.
Then this evening I went to the county fairgrounds for asn estate auction where I got a new in box Squeezo Strainer for canning tomatoes from my garden for $290.
My big haul for the evening was a beautiful 2 manual Kimball Z-50 organ with the Music Plus Computer. It was complete with 9 of the Computer Plus cartriages, Kimball lesson books, and the manual in the storage bench. This was extremely difficult to load into the trunk of the new Town Car, but once in there with some persuasion and some ratchet straps to secure it and the trunk lid all was good.(thank god for large trunks)

Forgot to say the Kimball organ cost me a whole $25 and seems to have been very lightly used.

Also does anyone know what style bags I could get for the Golden Glide? I assume the ones for the canned ham eurekas will work but I don't know what style bag that is.

Thanks

X Ray, i know what you mean about a large trunk,,i just traded my beloved Lincoln Town Car, for something smaller,,,it was just time to downsize. I had the Lincoln for over 12 years.
Sure miss that huge trunk, and some of the luxury features of that car, especially the touch pad keyless entry, and the outdoor temp reading. What i miss the most is the air ride suspension,,loved how that car just floated down the road,,,sure was great for long road trips,,except for when it came time to fill the gas tank! Good luck with your new finds!

Sam,

Those are the NLA style of Eureka bags called S&M. You can still find them on e-bay, and thankfully I have enough of them to last me until the end of time. Its been said that you can use a Eureka B bag, but the collar is different and is a completely different shape than what you need. I have tried it in one of my Hams, but I didn't like it at all, and seemed to leak a tad more dirt than the originals did....

GEN-U-WINE...Singer Golden Glide Bags...

Sam,

Here's a link, to a sale on the bay, which offers a brand new package of NOS bags for your new Singer. If you really want to have the original things for display, these are it. As I said in my previous post, these are just Eureka S&M bags.

In any case, thought I would bring these to your attention.

Chad

L bags?

I thought the bags for the Golden Glide was the same as the Eureka L bags. The collar is much wider on the L bags than the S&M bags. Now I have to go look though my stash.

I think that Mr Rocha is right...

Marty,

You're quite right the L bags are indeed the correct ones but the S&M's will fit as well, as they are the same sans wings. My thought was that Sam would probably have an easier time finding the S&M's than he would the L bags. Then again..what do I know...

I'm still very happy with the Regina BTW. I'm waiting very patiently to post pictures because My old system is being supplanted by a new HP laptop, as it will no longer do anything other than crash, right now I'm on the work system, and cannot upload my photo program as the boss would have to fire me... I should have my new system by weeks end. had to wait for that miracle from the gov't to come before I could buy it tho...

There will be LOTS of pics coming soon on all my newest arrivals.

Hi Chad

I did not know S&M bags will work as well. That's good to know because my supply of L bags is dwindling so I'm not using those bags or vacuums any longer. My friend Andy just gave me two pkgs of Eureka S&M bags because he thought they looked vintage and therefor thought I might like them! Can we say "understatement?" I LOVE them!

I'm glad you still like the Regina. I was getting worried.

Thanks for the bag tip!

Marty

Thanks for the tip on the Vintage Genuine Singer bags, I will be sure to bid on those just to have them for display.
Also thanks for letting me know that there is a few options for bags I will have to see what I can get on ebay and stock up.
