These machines came up in another thread, so I thought I'd share some pictures. I think we all know what they really are, re-badged Sanitares (or Perfects?). These machines were brand new and never used, until I used them!

Also, these do not use disposable bags, kinda blows Oreck's "7 layer hypo-allergenic HEPA filtration" right out of the water!

Kapok, rice crispies, and carpet powder.

Alex I have an idea for a cleaning test that is a real probl

for facility maintenance workers here in the northeast.
Sand, ice melt and rock salt. This is a good test for you sice most places out here use either Orecks or Sanitaires. My personal preference is the Sanitaire because I have the most experience with them. Let me know how the test turns out.

What a great idea and wonderful demonstration.

I love the idea, the implementation and the results - Id have to say Dyson came out on the bottom.

Which vacuum did best in your opinion.

I hear snow is rare but rain is not. As I recall from both 1986 and 2004 when I was in Seattle at this time of year, 2 inches of snow is sufficient to virtually shut the city down. No criticism of Seattle intended - it happens so rarely and there`s all those steep hills.

I still cant grasp the idea that Eureka is allowing such blatant copies. Very good looking machines, and the built-in magnet-bumper is such an obvious idea... why the hell didnt Eureka think of that? Is the Vibra Groomer identical to Eurekas? Does it have the classic 2000-style (pancake) motor?

Love the bag design and red cord/cord hooks. Hate the fact that a classic American machine is being made in China, at least Mexico is still North American!

Matt: Sorry, we didn't have that stuff available. :)

Mike: I'm not sure where you can find Kapok, all I know is the manager at Oreck orders it. Maybe you could find it at a local vacuum shop from their demos?

Dave: Yep, the Dyson failed on the Kapok test, although it seemed to pick up the carpet powder better than the first two new Orecks. Both of the newest Orecks had trouble picking up the powder, infact they never got all of it out, but surprisingly the Dyson didn't have any trouble!

I think it's a tie between the Dutch-tech and the Sani-Oreck (Sanitare).

Everyone: I forgot to add that all of the machines had new/slightly used bags, and the Dyson had an empty bin.

Oops, forgot some replies!

Dave: Usually we never have snow, and if we did it would never stick on anything. This year it was different, we had a few blizzards, and lots of ice. It caused a lot of trouble, such as a metro bus hanging off the edge of the freeway.

Brett: I'm not sure about the brush roll. I think it only had brushes and no beater bars.

Thank you for posting pictures of this! I wanted to see it since I read on that other thread (which I can't find anymore) that Eureka was rebadging machines for Oreck. I went to the Oreck web site and any pictures of them (though I did it on my Wing instead of my computer, so could have missed something).
