Can anyone tell me how I go about replacing the motor brushes on a Decade 80? I recently acquired one through eBay and figured I might as well replace them while I have the machine apart. Thanks in advance.

the tricky part is seating them properly. the carbon must make smooth contact with the copper bars. abrasive sticks are available that help the carbon conform perfectly to the curve of the commutator.

carbons on Hoovers are generally long lasting. unless the commutator is sparking or there is something wrong with the brushes, my advice is to let them alone!
