I had to post this thread because I saw so many messages about the Hoover Floor Mate. I did a little improvising with my Orbiter that has worked quite well. I use the black plastic backup plate (normally for the scrub pads or the carpet bonnet), to this I attached 2 of the long rectangular-shaped microfiber pads that are made for the push mops. Its perfect for laminate floors, which tend to show water marks if too much liquid is used to them. I called my floor manufacturer (Wilsonart) and the lady told me quite bluntly that the so-called floor cleaners are are all over formulated and over rated. I was informed that I could more effectively clean my laminate floors using Windex! Guess what? she was right! I love anything with microfiber and that's the only reason why I tried this, but if you've ever tried to push a microfiber mop after it's wet then you know why I wished for something easier to use. AND those microfiber pads never look clean whe you turn them over. I guess half the fun is seeing what kind of grunge I can pull up. I think I did a better job than my housekeeper and her mop!
