I had to replace the power nozzle cord on my Eureka Express power nozzle and I'm a bit confused. I know some basic wiring techniques, but I'm not an expert. The motor has two white wires coming out of it but the cord has black and white wires. I've wired it up with a one white wire to white and the other to black. I connected it to the hose, powered it up and the motor ran and seems to be working fine. However, my uncle says that if I didn't get the correct white wire connected to the black wire, the brush roll will spin backwards. I think he's pulling my leg, but thought I'd better run this by the experts.

I think it actually would spark and burn a fuse. I thihnk that is what happened when I rewired a vac motor incorrectly
