I emailed thermax the other day. I told them how I had a thermax af that i really liked it. This was last week yet. I got a email on tuesday. I got a email form the ceo. At first he thought I was Kyle K. He said either way they had a thermax af2 that they use da little bit from testing. THey thought I was so amazing that they wanted to send me. So today I got a text from my mom at school. She said that there were to big boxes on the front porch. WHen I got home I found a big thermax box and smaller box. In the big box there was a complete thermax af2 with all the tools and the carpet shampoo system. It works awesome. Its so nice to see a companyt that is that nice. I dont want to make people made thats why I made the heading.

Thermax...

I've never played with one, and hadn't heard of them until about 8 years ago... Never seen one in person.

Thanks for sharing!

I really want to upload pictures but no matter how small I make them they still wont upload. Maybe I will do photo bucket. It works awesome. Thermax went out of business during the mid 90s. There machine broke to esily and the warrenty they gave put them outta business. In the earlys 2000s Todd Walker bought the thermax name and started producing the the new and Improved AF1( aqua filtration). They changed the color to dark green and made a never better designed power nozzle. Then in 2004 the AF2(aqua filtration 2) came into play. It is 25% smaller and ligher. It has ac arrying handle so you can take it up and down stairs with water in it with only one hand.
IT has a system that surpases a rainbow any day. It has a waterfall effect inside making the dust drown into the water. Then it swirls around like in a dyson. Making sure all the dust is out. They it goes into a urathen foam filter core. They it goes through another foam filter or you can use a electrostatic filter. I use the electrostatic one and there isnt one speck of dust.

It holds all of the tools onboard in a compartment in the back. When you want to steam clean you pick up the tool cover and set a seperate water tank on it. There is a wire that plugs in where the normal Power Nozzle cord goes. THis powers the pump. The solution hose goes along the E.V.H(electrified vac hose. More on it later). It leaves the carpet really dry. How well it really works on a big rug I dont know cause I have only played with. It did use the hand tools to clean my brother matress. My brother is a welder and is around grease alot. Even if he takes a shower you can see a outline of his body from the grease. I cleaned the bed and the recovery tank water was coal black. THe best thing is that it was dry in about 1 hour and a half.

The hose is 10 feet long making it much easier to clean. On a rainbow or any other vac with the steam cleaning feature you have to use a seperate hose. Thermax developed a way that you can use the same hose for cleaning all of the operations. You just simply unplug the pigtail and you can suck up water then just plug it in and you can start using the power nozzle.

Over all In my opinion it is the best water filtraition vacuum made. They have a ten year warrenty and they work awesome. If you want a water vacuum buy either a af1 or af2. They are great.

Again--Congradulations on your newest "find"-Thermax has sure changed!!The ones I used to have were the large white boxy ones that had the power nozzle vacuum floor nozzle and wands-then a wet hose and wands and floor-ulpolstry tools.I traded mine to a vac dealer here that needed them for parts.I got both of my machines as part of a "package"from the former Kirby dealer. The machines I used to have had VERY weak suction in the vacuum cleaner mode.figured gasket or something was missing. My Rainbows had more power.I sort of thought the Thermax was more of a carpet cleaner, ulpolstry cleaner machine than a vacuum cleaner.Didn't realize that Thermax went under then ressurected.Interesting machine!!Give us a full story of how it works!!Sounds like a really good alternative to the Rainbow. The Thermax sounds like it can wet clean carpets and furniture better than a Rainbow.Esp the matteress you tried it out on--Tough excellent test!

OK the full Story on how it works.
1. The powerful powernozzle beats and brushes the carpet dislodging dust and dirt and great sweeping it into the airstream
2. Once it get through the wands and hose its goes into the water being drowned into the water bath. After that all of the heavy particles float to the bottom of the tank. The lighter particles are ushes up though like a water fall effect. Then the water is churned and it keep recerculating. Then the air goes through a eurathean foam filter. It is a cylinder shape.
3. Wether you are steam cleaning or vacuuming depends on which final filter you use. If you have severe allergys you use the white electrostatic filter. If you are steam cleaning and dont ahve severe allergys you use the black foam filter.
4. Its a great water vacuum. But it can be converted to a commercial quality deep cleaner. The tank sits on top of the cleaner which is secrued by the tool cover. The water line goes around the hose and it has a normal cleaning head. This makes it a awesome deep claner for any surface.

I love my thermax it is a awesome vacuum cleaner. I also got the mini max air purifier which also works awesome. I would deffinetly buy one. There is one NIB on ebay right now. Its really nice if you dont want the dealer price tag
