A rather more substantial tv appearance...!

This morning I appeared with Sydney TV personality Ann Maree Biggar on the morning show "9am with David & Kim." This aired on Sydney television channel "Network 10." Click on the link below then wait for a 30-second commercial to air.......

Well, I'm baaaa-ack. Very tired and jetlagged and have a thousand catch-up things to do. I will post a lurid tell-all very soon!

Well, today was the first chance I had to sit down and watch - and listen to - the various media appearances I made in Sydney. The laptop I had with me there did not have a sound card so I couldn't hear any of the dialogue.

Let me please hasten to note that my title of "worldwide vacuum cleaner expert" (or "world's most knowledgable vacuum cleaner expert" or "world's greatest authority on vintage vacuums" as I was was variously identified) was NOT my idea!!

Indeed, I had no idea I was going to be crowned with such a lofty and wholly undeserved honor, and feel quite embarrassed about it. I did make a bit of a protest when I saw it in print for the first time (on my media appearance schedule), and the publicity people said, "Oh, it's just a tongue-in-cheek sort of thing -- people will get it that it's just, you know, a bit of silliness. Just go along with the fun.

This is a good example of what's known as "hype." (Short for "hyperbole.") Show biz is full of it. Every celebrity, musician, actor, movie star, TV, radio, and sports personality is "sold" to the public largely through hype.

The sad cases are the ones who begin to believe the hype that's spewn about them.

You may all rest assured that this adventure has not gone to my head: I do not consider myself a "worldwide" expert on ANYTHING, including vacuum cleaners!!

So does water going down the drain swirl counter-clockwise?
Did you see any Dingo's carrying off babies?
What about the Kookaburra's? Were they all sitting in gumdrop tree's eating all the gumdrops they could see?
You didn't catch sight of Matilda waltzing around did you?

See link below.

Did you see any Dingo's carrying off babies?

No, but I did see a baby carrying off a dingo -- a stuffed plushie! haha

What about the Kookaburra's? Were they all sitting in gumdrop tree's eating all the gumdrops they could see?

Didn't see any kookaburras nor any gumdrop trees! (I was right right on the water; kookaburras generally are inland birds.)

You didn't catch sight of Matilda waltzing around did you?

Sadly, no. Guess she finally retired.
