I found this really nice Samsung canister today at a junk store and I'm really impressed with it. First off I love the shape and it appears to have won a design award for 1997 at the Internationalal Design Something in Hannover Germany, the sticker on top. First of all it's surprsingly quiet, it has a slider power control down there on the body, a cord rewinder, a removable charcoal filter on the back

Lift the top and there's all the tools

The underside of the Hibbert power nozzle. This thing is as close to silent as you'll get. The on/off switch is on the pistol grip handle. Plus I like the very small size of the nozzle, so easy to manouver and light.

Lastly as I was just gonna put it away I noticed a little indent on the back and found it has a hook on the wand that fits into the indent on the vac to hold the power nozzle and wand in the upright position so here's that pic..

Unusual find.

That is one Sexy Blue Space Vacuum, Pete! Definitely has that 'I'd use that in my Jetson Home' appeal. Welcome to Future Forward Plastique Pod Vac Design Land. I've dabbled myself, as you know.

I hate to say it but I was broke when I left the place in Petrolia and had to leave behind for you a turquoisey Compact with a cloth hose that's in so so shape. Not sure how good the vac is but will probably clean up decent.. I can go back and get it if you're not gonna be around these parts. Plus I found something for Felix.. check the other thread in a bit

I was using it this evening around the house and it really is a decent vacuum. Has a good solid feel to it for a plasti-vac. Then I was looking at a picture of the Mieles and the hose connector (where it connects to the machine) on this looks so darn close to the current Mieles its uncanny. Same unlatch mechanism etc.
The machine is actually quite large in real life..much larger than it looks in the picture.

That's like a futuristic take on the penguin-like Singer canister of the '50s.
