I vacuumed my room yesterday with my Hoover demension 1000, and went to use it today, there was no power to the vacuum. I tried a few different electrical outlets, but still no power. What might I check for? Has anyone eles had this experience with their demension?

make sure the auto manual switch is not in the middle or in between cycles.

Guys,

Home Depot or any good local hardware store should have a "line current checker" device which looks like a fat pen. You turn it on and run the plastic tip along the electrical lines and it will chirp if it detects electricity.

The other problem could be that the motor carbon brushes are not making contact with the armature because of accummulated dust in the brush holder preventing it from touching the contacts.

Umm...

...Doesn't the Dimension 1000 have some sort of electronic control board in it?

I had one of those fry in a Hoover years ago, and I think this was the model. Cost-to-replace was more than a new machine, IIRC.
