So, I'm becoming a Craigslist-a-holic...so what! Guess my due diligence is paying off!

This woman advertises this vacuum cleaner for $10 so I go to look at it. I almost had a massive coronary....it's a 9.5 pts. out of 10---practically brand new! The machine purrs so beautifully...I just may have to take IT to bed tonite-I can listen to it run forever! I just need to order bags and change the one that is in there because it smells like a wet dog! Other than that....it's good to go!

Louis

note: my wall and baseboard is clean. I don't know why my camera puts "special effects" into my pics! Damn!

Wow. I used to have one similar to this awhile ago, but it ended up going to a new home...I'm curious to know whether or not you'll be able to get the wet dog smell out of the vacuum. Keep me posted, as deodorizing uprights is something that I have never been good at and I'm curious to know of useful techniques.

i have a similar, older model. love it. about twice as powerful as a similar Hoover broom, and twice as quiet! maybe the best electric broom ever made.

mine has a powernozzle and cleans as well as an upright. if the cost of bags doesnt matter, its a perfect choice. overall better lightweight machine than... Oreck, for example.

Another great electric broom with strong suction is the Emer. Expensive but very good.

Louis,

It was so nice of you to find that vacuum for me. I will be looking forward to seeing it in a few days....you can just pack it with the vacuum supplies I ordered from you. Billy told me you don't have room for it. It is shame, at least I have another Miele here to keep it company... you know Christmas is right around the corner, Thanksgiving for that matter is closer yet,,,,HEY today is the first day of Fall...that works, don't we always give gifts on that day...LOL

It's not working is it......................

Louis what a great find, congratulations!! My suggest for the smell would be to put a cotton ball with a few drop of Kirby Orderific, orginal scent on it in a clean bag, I bet that will take care of it. Terry

Yes, Dave, my twinkle is working just fine! Better than ebay as I have said before! And, where I live I have no competition!! Even better!

I am somewhat surprised that this machine has both German(?)and CHINESE components!

The date code is II/2007 which means that it was manufactured in February of 2007. So, it's also newer than I thought it was!

The wet dog odor is not really a doggy smell, but it's more like an old bag smell that has human and animal body oil odor that has fermented.

The trick that I use is a cotton ball dabbed well with pure vanilla extract and then placed in the bag. Once I change the filters and bag the odor will be gone for sure. I have no doubt. Another great product out there is the vacuum bag tablet. There are all sorts of scents from cinnamon, to pine, to powder aromas and more. They work well and neutralize the odors. I particularly like the Hoover variety.

Morgan, just think of it this way....now you have something to play with when you come to my house again! LOL! Or, we can switch Mieles for a while!
